Greetings Alumni and soon-to-be Alumni,
I am pleased to introduce myself as the MIP Alumni Association President. My name is Gianluca Ferranti. I graduated in 2004, joined the alumni (AMIP) board in 2005, and became president of the board in November 2006.
It is a special privilege to serve this role and I'm truly excited about helping to broaden and build on the foundation for a more viable and stronger Association for you and the future alumni.
In welcoming you, I'd like to take the opportunity to reflect briefly on the significance of the mission and aims which we all share.
Before that, one cannot progress without recognizing the achievements of those that have come before, so I want to thank Prof. Andrea Sianesi, along with many others, for reviving the MIP Alumni Association. The bar has been set at a high level by my predecessor, in many ways we have tremendous momentum that I hope to carry forward and perhaps add some new perspective.
The MIP program enhanced our curricula, expanded our knowledge and improved our managerial skills, all this will be rewarded in any new job or venture for our entire life. In the same way, we must continue supporting MIP all over the world, contributing to the development of its activities and projects, and making people aware of MIP name wherever we go.
But Professional networking matters at least as much as you have learned, so keep links and connections Live; “Because Relationships Matter”.
When you reflect on your MIP experience, remember the importance of having good people around you. Feed the relationships with class mates, other classes alumni; you will be surprised to discover how strong the link might be. And do not forget faculty members. MIP's faculty is made up of a group of professors they came extremely diverse professional ask them to be a coach or mentor.
Students, faculty and alumni have distinguished themselves both nationally and internationally as leaders in their fields. It's clear that MIP is a very special place to many people who decided to invest in themselves gaining world-class education. All of us can take pride in the contributions and recognition our school has enjoyed over its history and especially in recent month with Equis accreditation.
The Alumni board members are goal-driven and filled with enthusiasm, they are working hard to provide greater opportunities for all alumni to strengthen their ties and remain involved with MIP.
As Board and Executive Committees members we are all volunteering our time because we feel very passionate about this Business School, and we want to be part of shaping this fine institution. For this reason, I sincerely appreciate all Members for their constant support in these endeavours.
In the first half of 2007, in response to requests from the membership, we have been working on increasing networking opportunities among MIP alumni by organizing monthly workshops and evening seminars.
This year has had a fantastic start! If you have not had an opportunity to participate in recent Alumni events, please come out and join us. Your Alumni Association has a variety of events planned throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing you.
Stay in touch with AlumniMIP. Come back to events. Help us make MIP even better. Become part of the alumni association wherever you may be in the world. And, contribute financially when you can, so that we can provide a great education to future generations and continue to build the value of your degree.
I welcome your involvement and input as we strive to strengthen the association and support the school. Please feel free to communicate with any of us to share your ideas and concerns. We want to serve you by being open and responsive to your issues.
