INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Special Edition: "Play for Japan"
Rho (Milan) 25-26 June 2011
The 11th edition of the MBA CUP were played at Rho (Milan) wiith a huge participation; 8 teams joined the tournament: INSEAD and HEC (Paris), Luiss Rome, Trieste, MIB, CUOA Vicenza, Bologna Alma and MIP Politecnico di Milano (2 teams). In two days a total of 15 games were played by more than 140 players.
Insead and MIB which defeated during the semifinals Alma and MIP, reached the final.At the end of the match the result was still 1 to 1 and penalties were needed to decide the winner. More then 5 penalties were performed by each team and finally Insead won the 11th edition of the MBA CUP.
This year the tournament was also aimed to raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross; thanks to the economic contributions of Alumni Associations (AlumniMIP, Assomaster), Universities (MIP Politecnico di Milano, Luiss University, Alma), Companies (JA-PAN-EUROPE LTD), other Associations such AIMBA and the football players, € 5,765 was collected.
The availability of the Municipality of Rho, Rhodense Calcio, AIA (Italian Referees Association), Holiday Inn Rho and "Rho Aid Public Assistance" (who have offered their facilities / services free or at special prices) has allowed the organizational commette to minimize costs and the amonut for the charity was € 3,219.
