The first “MIP football team” participated at the MBA Football CUP organized in Rome in the 2003.
The MBA Football Cup is an international football championship organized in Rome by Luiss during a week end in June. A lot of alumni teams joined the tournament during the last years: MIP (Milano), LUISS (Roma), CUOA (Altavilla Vicentina), MIB (Trieste), Profingest (Bologna), INSEAD (Fontainbleau), RSM (Rotterdam), SDA Bocconi (Milano), AUEB (Atene), IESE (Barcellona)
In 2003 we were only fourteen people and we tried to do our best. It was a very nice experience with a lot of adventures and we had a good opportunity to know other Business Schools too. We reached the 5th position, we won the “Fair Play” cup and everybody understood we were a special team too. In fact, it is not so easy to find such happy team after two matches lost: 6-0 and 7-0. In any case, it was clear to me that our potentiality was very high, we were a team, we played with the heart, we helped each other during all the matches.
And I was right. The following years we reached: 3rd position in 2004; 2nd position in 2005; 3rd position in 2006, 3rd position in 2007.
The scores are quite different from the first edition but not the attitude; we always play with the heart and we have a good time with the other Business School in Rome.
So many adventures have been described in a book: “Manager nel pallone”
The authors are: MIP team manager, people and football players; we are a team to write a book too. In “Manager nel Pallone” (“Manager in the ball”) everybody can see how we play, why we are so proud to play and what happened to us during the week ends of the tournaments.
Following the people which participated to write the book:
• Prof. Sianesi with a really important "Preface"
• Aristeo and Armando (our goleadors) with nice stories and adventures
• Tano (MIB Trieste team manager) with his adventures
• And just in time, just the last day, Carlo (The Mitical) has scored his goal with a fabulous story
• But the best, the cup is for our first fun: Sara. Sara (9 years hold) in five minutes and in nine lines has written a poetry were everybody can find the beauty and the spirit of the MIP team.

In the 2007 participation the team involved 23 people and for the 40% for those it was the first time. We played 2 fabulous matches with Insead e Luiss in which we had the heart to recover from 1-4 to 4-4 and from 0-2 to 2-2. Those was sufficient to catch up the half final game played at Flaminio Stadium. Unfortunately we lost (2-1) with MIB (Trieste) although we tried to recover and we were very close to reach the 2 odd.
After another third place in the 2008, finally in the 2009 MIP won the tournament for the fisrt time.
